Ted was surrounded by music from a young age, learning bass, piano and clarinet before settling on tenor saxophone as his main instrument. He has a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Saxophone performance from McGill University where he studied with Montreal greats Remi Bolduc, Frank Lozano and Chris McCann.
Since graduating, Ted has worked professionally across the globe in a variety of musical contexts from rock bands to jazz ensembles to show bands. He has led his own groups and played at world renowned venues and festivals such as the Montreal Jazz Festival, the Vancouver Jazz Festival, the Osheaga music festival, and the Suoni Per Il Popolo festival.
