As the first-prize winner of a National Competition in clarinet and second-prize winner in conducting, Paul Mark is a conductor, music composer and arranger, piano player, clarinetist, and teacher. He obtained a Master’s Degree in Musical Arts from the pedagogical university Gnesin Academy, and continued his pursuit of music by going on to graduate from—and then teach as an apprentice assistant professor—at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Conservatory of Music. From 2014 through 2022, he has been teaching music majors in the Earl Haig Claude Watson Arts Program.
Paul Mark makes ONLINE lessons more efficient by using the app 'SONATICO', designed as an alternative to Zoom and other video-conferencing software to better suit the needs of music lessons. In addition, 'SONATICO' offers many unique built-in features explicitly designed for music lessons to make the learning process smoother.
As an arranger, Pavel has enriched the standard clarinet repertoire through his unique arrangements for piano with different instruments as well as for various ensembles, ranging from the classical masterpieces to the more daring, innovative transcriptions of works by American and Latin composers. Pavel teaches piano lessons at Neighbour Note.
