About Lauren

Lauren is a graduate of the Songwriting Masters Program at Berklee College of Music, where she achieved Dean's List honors. She also holds a Masters Degree from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, where she specialized in musical theatre performance, vocal performance, and vocal anatomy, and is a graduate of Randolph College for the Performing Arts. Lauren has studied with Elaine Overholt and worked with Canadian singer/songwriter and producer Amy Sky as a backing vocalist on Olivia Newton John's Christmas album, A Christmas Wish.

Lauren has performed with various local and regional theatre companies, including Tweed and Company Theatre and Hart House Theatre, as an actor/musician. Additionally, she has worked abroad, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

In 2023, Lauren released her six-song sophomore EP, The Great Unknown, which she co-produced. The album features lush, full arrangements with twinkling textures and a rich, cinematic sound. Her entire music catalogue is available on all streaming platforms.

A multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter, Lauren teaches voice, piano, guitar, and ukulele at Neighbour Note. Using her performance background, RCM credentials, and extensive experience in multiple avenues of the music and entertainment industry, she brings a fun, refreshing approach to her teaching. Lauren instills confidence, performance knowledge, and introduces music theory while catering to each student’s natural flow of learning.

Lauren believes that, in music, the concept of time is unique for every learner. Instead of using time constraints and hard and fast structures, she adapts to the students’ natural flow of learning, and their creative process. 

A lover of music, storytelling, and song, Lauren puts emphasis on performance while catering to each student's individual needs. Lauren operates under the premise that, with the right training, anyone can sing anything. She believes that, in music, the concept of time is unique for every learner.
