The introduction series is a band program designed for the ultimate beginner musician. Very little musical experience is required. Beginner students will be given drum, vocal, guitar, bass, and keyboard tutorials in a band setting. Students will learn how to jam with other musicians. Focus will be on basic improvisation and rhythm comping.
Basic songwriting techniques will also be taught. All bands will rehearse and perform beginner popular songs, rudimentary rock music, and basic blues standards. Each participating student will have the opportunity to enter a recording studio to record one original song with his/her band mates. This is included in the cost of the program.
The program is once a week for an hour in length and is for a maximum of six people. Band member combinations may include up to three guitarists, two vocalists, a bassist, drummer, and keyboardist.
