Violin and piano teacher Stelth NG shared his gift of music with the patients and staff at the Donald K. Johnson Eye Institute at the Toronto Western Hospital as part of the University Health Network's Vision Health Month on May 16, 2017. Together with the Grigori String Quartet, Stelth performed works by Haydn, Dvorak, Beethoven, Brahms, Schubert, Debussy, and Canadian composer Laura Sgroi.
At the age of 12, Stelth began to lose his vision. Today, he is completely blind in his right eye and has vision loss in his left. Stelth has undergone more than 12 surgeries and procedures on his left eye to address cataracts, retinal detachments, corneal swelling, glaucoma and the dislocation of his intraocular lenses. Stelth is extremely appreciative to the many clinicians who helped save the sight in his left eye, specifically Dr. Graham Trope, Dr. Allan Slomovic and Dr. Wai-Ching Lam.
We are so proud of you Stelth. What a great way to show your appreciation by sharing your gift of music.
