On Sat. Jun. 22, Neighbour Note singing teacher and violin teacher Elizabeth Rodriguez performed with her band OKAN on the TD Main stage on Cumberland St. It was a powerful performance and mixture of traditional Cuban music with Jazz, Afro Cuban style and World rhythms. Elizabeth performed along side JUNO award winner and percussionist, composer, and singer Magdelys Savigne. Together with OKAN they entertained hundreds of audience members. OKAN actually means 'the soul of Santeria' which is an Afro Cuban religion. They represent Cuban music outside of Cuba. Elizabeth teaches violin lessons and singing lessons here at Neighbour Note. Congratulations Elizabeth. We are so proud of you!
